February 8, Bali, Indonesia. This was the day we officially entered paradise. Welcome to the Tibumana waterfall.
So at this time we stayed at the Samata in Sanur. The Tibumana waterfall wasn’t very far from there and fortunately we got to know our own driver a few days ago. Right before we arrived at the waterfall he told us he never was in that area and he was obsessed by the pure nature and the fact that this was the real Bali. He also told us that the inhabitants there don’t even know the airport of the island. This impressed me and I immediately knew this is the right thing we’re doing. Driving through areas without tourists with a local who tells us he has never been around there. That felt special.
While our driver told us some stories we drove along these paths and I was so astonished by that fascinating landscape. Rice fields as far as the eye can see and those really high palm trees. Not these palm trees you might know from Los Angeles, more those typical Asian ones. If you know what I mean. It was just special to see this.
After a few minutes of amazement we arrived at the parking lot, from there on we had to walk. So we did and the astonishment continued. A narrow path led us to the waterfall, directly through the jungle. This was pure nature. We heard the water and several animals, crazy feeling when I briefly closed my eyes.
Later we also slipped into our bathers and dared to go into the quite cold water. It was such a great experience and I’m so happy we did this.
