Wednesday, day nine here in Indonesia and we arrived at lodging number three: The Intercontinental Bali Resort. Around 1 p.m. we were warmly welcomed by the staff.

What immediately attracted attention was a more than friendly welcome. The staff at the Intercontinental is more than friendly, rightly appropriate to the well-known and friendly Asian behavior. After we got a detailed instruction about the facility, and checking into our rooms, we made ourselves an overview of the 14 ha big area.

Nestled in lush tropical gardens, alongside a stretch of prime white sand beach, InterContinental Bali Resort invites you to immerse yourself in the ambiance of a tranquil Balinese village. Traditional Balinese architecture, seamlessly interwoven with modern conveniences.

The Rooms

The Hotel, which is one of the most prestigious addresses of the Island, offers a luxury proposition of 417 beautiful equipped rooms, suites, and private villas. These are located in six separated buildings which combine modern comfort with elements of the Balinese architecture.

We’re accommodated in a Club InterContinental Room with 58sqm. It pays homage to Bali’s cultural traditions. The use of indigenous timbers, wood carvings, and hand-woven textiles combined with original art works and decorative objects highlight the aesthetic talents of local artisans.

The room provides two Queen size beds, and an additional sofa bed.

The Hotel

The main areas of the facility is separated in the beach, temple, bridge, and driveway areal. There are three dining areas at the InterContinental Bali Resort: the restaurant, the Japanese Teppanyaki, and the Garden.

Blessed with a serene beachside landscape, Spa Uluwatu naturally draws inspiration from the spa philosophy of “health by the water“, with an underlying oceanic theme woven into its menus and treatments.

The Spa Uluwatu at the resort is a combination of exclusive treatment venues designed to cater to the healing, wellness and beauty needs of a diverse global traveller. Hopefully we find some time to use the great opportunities there.
