I’m in the mountains quite often at the moment. Usually I prefer the ocean, but nothing beats this fresh air and the landscape up here. Let me introduce you to my current home, the Kempinski Hotel in Berchtesgaden.

So I arrived to this fascinating scenery yesterday morning. The hotel immediately catched me with it’s stunning entrance and lobby. You can clearly see that everything here is finest quality.

The Hotel

The Kempinski Berchtesgaden is located in the middle of the mountain scenery of the “Watzmann“, “Untersberg“ and the “Kehlstein“ in the Bavarian alps. A perfect place to recharge and enjoy the are around the famous Königssee.

Rooms & Suites

With a various selection of rooms, the Kempinski Berchtesgaden has everything to offer. There are four different types of rooms: Executive mountain view room, Superior room, Deluxe terrace room, and the Deluxe mountain view room.

The three different types of the suites (Panorama, Maisonette, Presidential) are simply overwhelming. All rooms are equipped with all you need for a pleasant stay.

Regional products are used to cook delicious meals in the restaurants “Le Ciel“ and “Johann Grill“.

“Le Ciel“ or “The Sky“ is on here to take guests to new culinary heights. The star chef Ulrich Heimann has been awarded a Michelin star for the twelfth time already.

Johann Grill was the very first person to climb the east face of Mount Watzmann – the third highest mountain in Germany, located south of Berchtesgaden – the restaurant’s dishes are a thrilling tribute to the beautiful peak and those that have ascended it.

At the hotel’s “Kaminbar“ you can enjoy a cosy alpine atmosphere with all sorts of homemade cake creations, chocolate masterpieces and delicious speciality coffees.

By the way, the breakfast is a pure dream. Fresh baked bread, egg specialities, freshly pressed juices, pancakes and a wide range of cereals are leaving no wishes.

You could easily stay at least one week at the Kempinski Berchtesgaden without getting bored. The hotel offers a big selection of activities with Manuel Huber, such as jogging in the morning, torch or snowshoe hikes, skiing or biking tours. Besides, you can rent two exclusive cars here. The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster and the Mercedes-AMG G 63. What are you waiting for, if you’re down for a ride?

One of my personal highlights, besides the delicious breakfast, is the spa area of the Kempinski Berchtesgaden. It offers a journey of relaxation and wellness that is inspired by the European cycle of the seasons. The wellness area has a total size of 1,400 sq m, including an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness studio, solarium, a Finnish and a herbal sauna, a steam bath with color therapy, an infrared cabin, and a meditation lounge with floating water beds.
